TIFF, Transilvania International Film Festival, accredited by FIAPF, has announced the award winners for 2022 festival, which took place from June 17-26 in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania.
Transilvania International Film Festival, or TIFF, is the biggest international film festival in Romania, which is held annually in the historic capital of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca.
Transilvania International Film Festival 2022 Award Winners
Transilvania Trophy
Winner: “Utama” by Alejandro Loayza Grisi
The Transilvania Trophy of the 2022 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) went to “Utama” by Alejandro Loayza Grisi from Bolivia, Uruguay, France.
Best Directing Award
Winner: Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson for “Beautiful Beings” (“Berdreymi”)
The Best Directing Award of the 2022 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF)—worth 3.500 euros— went to went to Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson for “Beautiful Beings” (“Berdreymi”) from Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Czech Republic.
Special Jury Award
Winner: “Feature Film About Life” (“Ilgo metro filmas apie gyvenimą”) by Dovile Sarutyte from Lituania
The Special Jury Award of the 2022 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF)—in amount of 1,500 euros, offered by CEMACON—went to “Feature Film About Life” (“Ilgo metro filmas apie gyvenimą”) by Dovile Sarutyte from Lithuania.
Best Performance Award
Winner: Laura Müller and Schemci Lauth for “The Night Belongs To Lovers” (“La Nuit Aux Amants”)
The Best Performance Award of the 2022 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF)—worth 1.000 de euros, offered by Conceptual Lab by Theo Nissim—went to Laura Müller and Schemci Lauth for their portrayals of Axelle and Yoann in the French drama “The Night Belongs To Lovers” (“La Nuit Aux Amants”) directed by Julien Hilmoin.
Special Mention of the Jury
Winner: Eszter Csonka for “Gentle” (“Szelíd”)
The Special Mention of the jury for Best Performance went to Eszter Csonka for her portrayal of Edina in the Hungarian drama “Gentle” (“Szelíd”) directed by László Csuja & Anna Nemes.
“What’s up, Doc?” Section Award
Winner: “You Are Ceaușescu To Me” by Sebastian Mihăilescu
The best award—worth 2000 euros, offered by Tenaris Silcotub—in the “What’s up, Doc?” competition section of the 2022 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) went to “You Are Ceaușescu To Me” by Sebastian Mihăilescu from Romania.
