HollyShorts Film Festival has announced the complete list of award winners for 2022 festival, which took place from August 11-20 at TLC Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles (California, USA).

HollyShorts Film Festival (HSFF) is an annual independent short film festival located in Hollywood, California. It brings together top creators, industry leaders, and companies and has launched many filmmakers into the next stages of their careers.

Three short films were the winners in the Oscar-qualifying categories for Grand Prix Best Short, Best Live Action and Best Animation and earned the HollyShorts Film Festival’s official academy nomination. Victor Gabriel‘s “Hallelujah” won the Grand Prix Best Short, Seemab Gul‘s “Sandstorm” (“Mulaqat”) won the Best Live Action and Joseph Pierce‘s “Scale” won the Best Animation.

  • Best Documentary: “MINK!” by Ben Proudfoot
  • Best LGBTQIA+: “North Star” by P.J. Palmer
  • Best International: “The Voice Actress” by Anna J. Takayama
  • Best Sci-Fi: “Waltz of the Angels” by Braden Barton
  • SAG Indie Winner: “My Jerome” by Adjani Salmon
  • Hawk Films Screenplay Award: “Mina Finders Her Edge!” by Robin Rose Singer
  • Script Compass Screenplay Award: “In the Garden of Tulips” by Ava Lalezarzadeh
  • Best Female Screenplay (Presented by BeCine): “Last Ship East” by Eris Qian
  • Best TV: “A Question of Service” by Erin Brown Thomas
  • Best TV Screenplay: “Forsyth County” by James Sasser
