Tirana International Film Festival unveils 2022 lineup

Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF), accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the European Film Academy (EFA) as a qualifying festival for short film categories, has announced the complete lineup for 2022 festival, which is scheduled to take place in Tirana (Albania) from September 24-30.

Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the major annual events taking place in Tirana each year. TIFF is the first international film festival and the only of its kind in Albania. This extraordinary cultural event created in 2003 is one of the most important cinematic event in Balkans.

Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) is accredited by the following Awards Academies:

  • Academy Awards (accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS))
  • European Film Awards (accredited by the European Film Academy (EFA))
  • Student Academy Awards (SAA) (accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS))

Since its inception, TIFF receives over 40,000 short and feature films from over 120 countries around the world. Out of all these applications more than 200 films can be chosen each year for the competition and the special program.

Recipients of the Tirana International Film Festival Best Short Film will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film / Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy Rules.
