Uppsala Short Film Festival, Sweden’s major short film festival and one of Europe’s most important short film festivals, has unveiled the complete film lineup for International, National and Children’s Film competitions. The 41st edition of the festival is slated to take place in the Swedish city of Uppsala from October 24-30, 2022.

Founded in 1982, Uppsala Short Film Festival has since become Sweden’s premier arena for short film and one of the most important short film festivals in Europe.

Uppsala Short Film Festival is recognized by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which means that winning the international or national competition at the festival makes a film eligible for a nomination for an Oscar.

The festival is also recognized by the European Film Academy and BAFTA. Screening at the festival qualifies Swedish short films for Guldbagge nominations — official and annual Swedish film awards ceremony honoring achievements in the Swedish film industry.
