The 28th Palm Springs International ShortFest, the largest film festival for short films in the United States, has announced the complete lineup for 2022 festival.

The 28th Palm Springs International ShortFest has announced the complete lineup for 2022 festival, which takes place at the Camelot Theatres (Palm Springs Cultural Center) from June 21-27, 2022.

Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films, also known as Palm Springs International ShortFest, is the largest film festival for short films in the United States. The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films takes place across seven days each June, showing more than 350 short films every year, and hosting a Short Film Market with over 3,000 new short films annually.

Designated by AMPAS, BAFTA, BIFA and Goya Awards as an award-qualifying festival, and accredited by the International Short Film Conference, the Palm Springs International ShortFest & Short Film Market is one of the most acclaimed short film showcases in the world.

The ShortFest Official Selection comprises the approximately 300+ shorts curated thematically into programs of approximately 90 minutes in duration which aim to bring together a diverse cross-section of contemporary cinema.

Distinct works from filmmakers of various international backgrounds come into conversation with one another in unexpected and exciting ways. Palm Springs International ShortFest maintains an inclusive attitude toward presenting short-form moving image work, with a variety of genres and forms converging throughout the Official Selection.

The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films is a spin-off of the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) that takes place each January.

The 28th edition of the Palm Springs International ShortFest opened with the screening of 5 short filmsat the Camelot Theatres (Palm Springs Cultural Center). “Foreign Uncle” by Sining Xiang from USA/China, “The Blanket” by Teppo Airaksinen from Finland, “Daddy’s Girl” by Lena Hudson from Unites States, “The Hero” by Milena Dutkowska from Poland, “Long Line of Ladies” by Rayka Zehtabchi, “Shaandiin Tome” from United States went on screening at the opening night of the festival followed by the Opening Night party of the festival.

The 2022 Palm Springs International ShortFest will screen 51 curated programs showcasing 300 films including 38 World Premieres, 17 International Premieres, 35 North American Premieres and 18 U.S. Premieres.
