Huesca International Film Festival unveils lineup

Huesca International Film Festival, or Festival Internacional de Cine de Huesca, has announced the lineup for the 50th edition of the festival, which is scheduled to take place as a hybrid event from June 10-18, 2022.

Huesca International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals dedicated to short films in Spain. The festival is recognized as a qualifying film festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Oscars, for the Best Short Fiction Film category. Huesca International Film Festival is also recognized by the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards.

Organized by the Fundación Festival Internacional de Cine de Huesca, the Huesca International Film Festival aims to promote cinematographic culture through short films, sharing innovative proposals in this field.

The festival has announced three competition sections for the 2022 edition:

  •  Ibero-American Competition(dedicated to short films from Spain, Latin America, and Portugal)
  • International Competition (dedicated to the short films from the rest of the countries)
  • Documentary Competition (dedicated to the short films from all countries around the world)

Ibero-American Competition

30 short films have been selected to compete in the  Ibero-American competition section of the 50th Huesca International Film Festival. The short movies in this competition section are from Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Colombia and Argentina .

As confirmed by the Spanish festival, the 50th edition of the Huesca International Film Festival takes place in context of both virtual and in-person event from June 10-18, 2022.
