Tommaso Acquarone’s MY EYES (I Miei Occhi) has qualified to be considered for the 2023 Academy Awards after winning the Best Fiction Film award at the 19th edition of In the Palace International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria.

MY EYES (I Miei Occhi) stars actress Kseniya Rappoport and shares the story of a woman, who finds a familiar face while driving in the rain and offers him a ride home: a journey that could change her life forever.

Italian writer/director Tommaso Acquarone directed “Film on the River” for the brand Emilio Pucci (LVMH), featured at the Milan Fashion Week. Before directing his own films, this talented filmmaker worked as a director’s assistant for Gabriele Muccino (Pursuit of Happiness, Seven Pounds). He is currently developing his debut feature.

Broadcasted by Rai Cinema, MY EYES (I Miei Occhi) is produced by Redibis Film and Tommaso Acquarone. Founded in 2012 by Daniele Segre and Daniele De Cicco, Redibis Film has the ambition of realizing movies capable of combining an auteur quality with a commercial value.

The young roadside juggler, João Farinha, is a first-timer on the screen. The stunning cinematography was created by Andrea Benjamin Manenti and the film was edited by Massimo Da Re.

Released by the international sales agent Lights On, MY EYES (I Miei Occhi) has won numerous high-profile awards and has also been selected for more than 20 well-respected film festivals, including the International Rome Film Festival, the Brest European Short Film Festival and the Valencia International Film Festival Cinema Jove.

MY EYES (I Miei Occhi) has qualified to be considered for the 2023 Oscars.

The OSCARS® shortlist will be announced on December 21st.
