Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, accredited by the Academy Awards as a Oscar-Qualifying festival for short film category, has announced the complete list of award winners for 2022 festival, which took place in theatres as well as OTT platforms from August 4-14.
Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF) is an Academy Award® qualifying festival for short film categories. Winners of Best Film in International Competition Section and Best Film in Indian Competition Section will be eligible for consideration in the short film categories of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the films otherwise complies with the Academy Rules.
Bengaluru International Short Film Festival 2022 winners
Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or BISFF, has announced its winners in 6 competition sections: Let’s Include Competition, Animation Competition, International Competition, Women’s Cinema Collective, Indian Competition and Karnataka Competition. Winners in each category grabbed awards under ‘Winner’, ‘First Runner-up’ and ‘Second Runner-up’.
Let’s Include Competition
“An Irish Goodbye” by Tom Berkeley and Ross White grabbed the best award in Let’s Include competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF.
1st Runner-up Winner
“Father Tongue” by Ivgeny Gashinsky
2nd Runner-up Winner
“Sunshine” by Martha Goddard
Animation Competition
The best award in the Animation Competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF, went to “Death And The Winemaker” by Victor Jaquier.
1st Runner-up Winners
- “Kandittundu” by Aditi Krishnadas
- “The Cave” by Jinman Kim and Jiyoung Chon
2nd Runner-up Winner
“Run Totti Run” by Shad Lee Bradbury
International Competition
“Adopt a Dog” by Juan Manuel Barreda won the best short film in International Competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF.
1st Runner-up Winner
“Murder Tongue” by Ali Sohail Jaura
2nd Runner-up Winner
“An Encounter” by Kelly Campbell
Women’s Cinema Collective
“My heart Is An Ocean” by Tanvi Jadwani grabbed the best award in the Women’s Cinema Collective competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF.
1st Runner-up Winner
“Soulmates” by Manya Gadhok.
2nd Runner-up Winner
“Raavi” by Jasmine Kaur Roy
A special mention in the Women’s Cinema Collective was awarded to “Swarna by Anusha Rao.
Indian Competition
“Mur Ghurar Duronto Goti” (“The Horse From Heaven”) by Maharshi Tuhin Kashyap won the best short film in the Indian competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF.

2nd Runner-up Winner
“The Silent Echo” by Suman Sen
Karnataka Competition
“Alegalu Helida Kathe” by Raghu Raghava won the best award in the Karnataka Competition section of the 2022 Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, or the 12th BISFF.
